9000 Years of History in the Land of the River People : The Stóːlō : From Time Immemorial 

“The program ‘From Time Immemorial’ is designed to provide students from primary to mid-intermediate grades with a basic introduction to Stóːlō culture and an understanding of First Nations history. …. This project was funded by a grant from the Ministry of Education, Aboriginal Branch under their Curriculum Development Program.” (p. 7)

This teacher resource was developed with extensive participation by a large committee of educators from several Lower Mainland school districts, many Stóːlō Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and several historical researchers and archaeologists. “This package was reviewed in it’s entirety by Chief Frank Malloway of Yakweakwioose First Nations (Chilliwack, B.C.)” (p. 5)  Each module can be taught on it’s own, and includes information, activities, blackline masters and stories.

“This resource was developed by the Siyá:ye Society to support educators in meeting provincial and locally developed aboriginal curriculum.  It was developed to help ensure that teaching and learning with respect to First Peoples in British Columbia is based on authentic knowledge and understanding, as articulated by Elders and other educators.
